Joplin Union Depot

OUT OF STOCK

The Joplin Union Depot in Joplin, Missouri, and Kansas City, Texas, served as a cornerstone of travel for many until it saw its last train roll out on November 4, 1969. This historic station, designed by the Canadian-born architect Charles A. Coolidge, boasted intricate brickwork and a classic blend of architectural styles that captured the charm of the era. With its grand waiting room and bustling atmosphere, the depot was more than just a stop; it was a vibrant hub where people shared stories and adventures that extended far beyond Missouri's borders. When that last train departed in '69, it marked not only the end of an era but also a nostalgic farewell to the golden age of rail travel, when hopping on a train meant embarking on spontaneous journeys filled with excitement and discovery. Today, remnants of that lively spirit linger like whispers in the station's walls.
